nokiaNokia has signed a deal with Oracle to providee mapping and location services across Oracle's range of applications.
The deal, which was first reported by the Wall Street Journal and is expected to be officially announced Oct 1., will see Nokia Maps significantly expanding its user base and establishing a solid grip on the enterprise market.

By purchasing Navteq exactly five years ago, Nokia bought its way into the automotive navigation market and laid down the foundation to perfect Nokia Maps, which is today integrated into Nokia's mobile products.
Among other features, Nokia Maps offer turn-by-turn navigation with voice guidance, live traffic info, terrain maps, satellite maps as well as 3D maps and buildings, all of which is free for Nokia device users.

The news about the Nokia-Oracle deal comes shortly after Apple CEO Tim Cook publicly apologized for the shortcomings of Apple's own mobile mapping product, Apple Maps.
